About:

Mohau Modisakeng was born and raised in Soweto, Johannesburg in 1986. Through his work, Modisakeng delves into the influence of South Africa’s history on how South Africans view and understand their culture, political and social roles as human being in post-colonial Africa as well as post-apartheid South Africa.

To achieve this, he uses material, metaphor and the black body as tools. His work is represented through film, large-scale photographic prints, installations and performances.
